cELEBRATING AMERICA’S 250TH anniversary

INR250—is a major commemorative maritime event scheduled for July 3–8, 2026 in the Port of New York and New Jersey. The celebration, marking the 250th anniversary of the United States’ founding, will bring together over 100 ships and 16,000 service members, and will highlight America’s maritime heritage, global cooperation, and naval contributions to security and freedom of the seas.


THE HISTORY OF INR

This year’s INR will be the seventh naval review in the history of the United States, with the first being held in 1893. Named the Colombian Review, the celebration was held in honor of the 400th anniversary of Christopher Columbus’s arrival in the America’s. 

Since then, naval review’s have marked significant moments in American history, including the return of the Great White Fleet in 1909, the end of World War II in 1945 and, most recently, the Bicentennial in July 1976.

This year’s Semiquincentennial celebrates America’s 250th anniversary, and is set to be the largest scale naval review in our nation’s history. 


SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

While the New York Council Navy League is still in the planning stages of INR250 and things are subject to change, here are some events and other initiatives members, partners, and friends can look forward to.

COMMANDING OFFICERS RECEPTION

Fans of our marquee Fleet Week event, the Richard and Doris Scheuing CO/XO Reception, can expect a similar event that bring participating sea service members and the general public for an evening reception celebration our nation’s maritime.

“INR in NYC” WALKING TOUR APP

The New York Council will be launching a walking tour app for visiting sailors. This mobile app is set to significantly improving their visit to New York. by providing information like NYC landmarks, military-friendly businesses and services, and a schedule events, and all content will be provided in multiple languages for international visitors as well.

ENGAGEMENT EVENTS

Ships tours for members and adopted youth units, tabling on the pier, and other initiatives to bring together civilians and visiting sailors.
